When drought sets in and rain is short, rain barrels can provide that precious water you need for your lawn and garden. The Rain Wizard 50 can provide 50 gallons of pure, unchlorinated water when municipalities declare periods of low water usage. During heavy rainfalls, a typical roof can produce hundreds of gallons of water. By saving that water, you can reduce your average water usage by up to 40%. With those kinds of savings, the Rain Wizard 50 can pay for itself in just a few seasons.
The Rain Wizard 50 features an attractive faux oak barrel design so it naturally fits in with your landscape. Its plastic screen mesh is newly designed to keep out bugs, animals, and debris while still being easy to remove for cleaning and maintenance.
A front side overflow keeps water from flooding against your outside wall. The flat-back design is one of the most convenient features as it allows your barrel to sit right up against your home so you don't have to worry about purchasing excess downspout parts.
The Rain Wizard 50 barrels are tough. While most barrels will crack or become brittle in the wintertime, the Rain Wizard 50 will stay strong. It is still recommended that you drain your barrels when temperatures approach the freezing point.
Available Options:
Most rain barrels on the market don't fully utilize the water they hold because the spigot is located about
halfway up the barrel. This allows buckets to be filled, but leaves about a quarter of the water behind.
This remaining water is standing which can be hazardous. Barrels with optimally located spigots don't allow
room for buckets and leave only hoses as the draining option. The Rain Wizard 50 Stand solves these problems
by lifting and supporting the Rain Wizard 50 rain barrel off the ground. With increased elevation, the barrel
can drain at a much faster rate and any filling device can be easily placed below the spigot without awkward
tilting or maneuvering.
The Rain Wizard 50 connector kit is your tool for expanding the capacity of your Rain Wizard 50 rain barrel.
Though some people are able to buy multiple barrels that hook up to separate downspouts at their home, others may
have obstructions that remove that option or make it difficult to work around. That's why we've designed our
barrels to be linkable. This way when one rain barrel is full, it will overflow into the rain barrel next to it.
Setup can be done quickly and only requires a screwdriver for the clamps and a drill with a 1/4"-3/8" bit.
When positioning the rain barrels be sure to have the primary barrel (the one at the downspout) level if not higher than the secondary barrels. This ensures that water will flow out through the connector hose and into the second barrel. The higher the first barrel than the second, the more water pressure into the second barrel reducing overflow waste. For cases where you have 3 or more, you would need to continue this cascade pattern so the water literally flows down to the next barrels. The primary barrel is usually on a stand or cinder blocks to achieve the extra height needed.
When it comes to composters, you have two basic choices: Bins and Tumblers. Bins typically hold more than tumblers but must be aerated constantly. Tumblers aerate easily but usually don't hold as much material.
The Compost Wizard resolves both of these shortcomings. Its 12 Cubic Foot massive drum is one of the largest on the market. Featuring an efficient drum design, the Compost Wizard eliminates the need for strenuous churning. All you have to do is rotate the drum on its stand to quickly and easily mix your compost materials. Glide posts on the base allow the drum to rotate freely while keeping it in position, and recessed handles on the sides provide gripping points for easy turning optimizing your torque, unlike complex, crank-driven systems that are clunky and break over time. Turn your Compost Wizard about once a week to keep oxygen, nutrients, microorganisms, and moisture evenly distributed throughout the developing batch. Within weeks of adding garden and kitchen waste, the Compost Wizard will transform your scraps into valuable organic material.
A common problem with all composters is that you must transport heavy material across the yard. The Compost Wizard drum can be leveraged off of the base and rolled to your desired location quickly and easily with No Heavy Lifting! The 16" twist lid makes access very easy while also sealing in precious compost tea and keeping out animals. Fresh compost can be made in as few as 14 days, and you only have to turn it once a week or after addition of new material.
The innovative Compost Wizard is made of molded recycled polyethylene plastic and holds up to 12 cubic feet of material. The black color of the bin absorbs heat, facilitating faster composting. The Compost Wizards low profile design keeps it from blowing over in high winds, helps keep it out of sight, and makes it convenient for loading and unloading material with its wide 16-inch twist-on lid. The vented lid and end vents circulate air within the batch to accelerate rapid composting. The Compost Wizard compost tumbler comes fully assembled so you can start composting immediately. Tough and durable, the Compost Wizard is backed by a one-year limited manufacturer warranty.
