Early Seed Start in Weeks:
Recommended number of weeks to start plants indoors before transplanting to outdoor location.

Minimum Soil Temp:
Minimum soil temperature to insure timely germination. Seeds planted before this temperature is reached in the soil are in danger of rotting.

Soil pH:
Recommended range for soil pH.

Frost Tolerance:
Ability to withstand unexpected frost. Also lists approximate transplant time. Timing for transplanting varies year to year and is extremely variable. The times listed were built around the central Flathead Valley floor. Elevation and proximity to the central Flathead Valley will alter your specific planting schedule. Wall o Waters and Season Starters may allow the start of certain plants up to 8 weeks earlier than what is listed.
